Lent

Are you giving up something for Lent? Or adding something?

Legally Fabulous had a great post about this subject. I know that I am guilty of giving up something rather than adding something, so I plan to do both this year. I agree that oftentimes giving something up is more about you than it is about Jesus.

Have a happy Fat Tuesday celebration tonight!

I LOVE that blog post! I feel much the same way. I do still usually give something up every year, but I don't like talking about it with anyone else because then I do feel it becomes a spectacle instead of a personal sacrifice.

Anyway, tangent over. :-P Happy Ash Wednesday tomorrow!

I always enjoy Lent and do not give up anything, but add a couple of good things, including our twice a week Bible Studies. I also believe in the "do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" philosophy, which is hard. I thought the post and comments were interesting. It is very, very hard for me to sacrifice by giving up eating between meals on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, although I imagine I could happily give up eating meat for the next 40 days.
