Wild Animals

We all learned that animals hibernate in the wintertime, but if you looked in our backyard you would dispute that. Our little backyard is alive with lots of animals, including bucks, squirrels, and cardinals. Seeing the deer was a treat. This past spring, summer, and fall, we spied a mamma and her twin fawns on our early morning runs. Those fawns must have grown into quite the Bambis because I (think) I saw them gathering food for the winter.

Furthermore, apparently the cardinals have called a conference in our trees, because as many as ten we out and about on Sunday:

You may be thinking, like I was, that amidst all of this backyard activity, the guard animals must be active and, well, guarding. But alas:

One stayed in her play tube and the other lounged on the sofa:
Happy Tuesday to you!

You and David are lucky to have such a beautiful backyard, plus so many windows from which to look at it!

We are just hoping our new dog can guard our yard from moles, come spring!
