Help!

Hello readers, I need your assistance. I went shopping for a graduation dress this past weekend and ended up buying three. Don't worry, I'm not going to change dresses during the middle of the ceremony, but I do need help narrowing down what I will be wearing. My graduation will be during the day and I will also wear the same dress to my graduation party. My goal is to look appropriate (obviously). However, I want to look young as well. Also, please keep in mind how good the dress looks on me and if I could possibly wear it to 1) work or 2) other events like weddings. Here are the contenders (I am incapable of making a decision by myself!):

Dress #1: Teal dress
I like this dress because the neckline is so interesting. The folds are adorable and interesting without making the dress itself raunchy or inappropriate.

Dress #2: Purple dress

You can't tell in the picture, but this dress is a jewel-toned purple color. Again, I think that the color makes the dress itself look really interesting.

Dress #3: The pink dress

This dress is sweet and cute. I like it because it is fluttery and summery. The neckline is again, interesting, and the color just screams young. I have some other work dresses (that wouldn't be appropriate for graduation), and that makes me lean to dresses that show that I'm 25, not 45!

I went shopping with my friend Jancin, asked help from the sales associate, and obviously modeled these for David. I won't tell you how they ranked them. I am honestly torn. I can see the pros and cons of each dress. I also don't want to tell you the prices of each because I want an opinion that disregards price. So please help me out and comment below!

I vote for the purple! It will be interesting to see which one you pick. Pick the one you are most comfortable in.
Congratulations and we are planning on seeing you at graduation on Sunday!
Love ya, Juanita

Hahaha and you were worried you wouldn't find ONE dress!

I vote for option 1 or 2, the fits of those seem to be a bit more flattering, and while the pink one you could wear to a wedding etc event you could not where it to work as well and the other options you could wear to any of those places. And if I had to pick just one I'd say #2, I'm partial to anything purple and that shade is gorgeous!! Great finds!!

I like the first one the best! I like the look of the fabric the best. I don't like dresses that wrinkle when one sits down. Also, I think its easier to find black heels or sandals you already have to match the first dress, and I'd be tempted to find purple or pink shoes for the other two!

Hmmm tough decision - they're all so cute!

I vote for the teal one, though. It's a young, happy color but still adult looking. The purple one looks a bit too "mature" (iykwim) and the pink is a bit too young and flirty for a graduation (though it'd be supercute at a wedding or brunch or whatever).

2 or 3. #2 (the purple) is my favorite, but it does look more professional. I imagine you wearing it to work with a cardigan. BUT, I have gold heels you might be interested in, and our hoods are purple . . . but #3, the pink, looks younger, cuter, and generally more fun. #1 is of course my favorite color, but it's my least favorite dress on you.

I vote for one or two. The pink is cute too. You know how you feel in them and the one that makes you feel the best go for it.
Congratulations you have accomplished much and know this is only the beginning. l.j.

I vote teal. I think that the color goes best with your hair. I think that the lower waist-line is also more flattering on your figure, while the neckline and the flowy folds underneath it keep it light and springy. What shoes are you going to wear with it? I agree with Mrs. Haid that some black ones would tie in well with the belt (it's black, right?) and your watch, and you probably already own some. :)

I vote for the teal. I agree with Julie - although it may not look like that in real life, the picture of the pink one makes it look a little less flattering than the other two.

Ab-
I vote for #1 because the belt look is super cute and I think that teal color looks awesome on you! And you're right, the pleats are adorable. However I wonder if you could put the belt with the pink dress as well...just a thought! If I know you, you'll pick the opposite one of the one I would pick, which would be the pink one!
You're going to look fantastic either way!
LOL, Congrats in advance!! Can't wait to see you on Friday, and on Sunday for your big day! : )
love, Rach

Dress 1
Just an additional thought tho...won't they all be covered by your graduation regalia? :)

I am not reading the other comments before I make mine, so I am not influenced either! My favorite is the teal dress, which I think is really, really cute, although I like the others too. I think "not raunchy or inappropriate" is good! Will you be wearing a robe over your dress during the ceremony? I am curious about whether the women will wear stockings, or if they are totally not part of dressing up anymore.

I vote for the purple one, dress #2. I like them all though.

I vote for the teal dress. It is a color I love and I like the style. I personally hate tight skirts that are hard to sit in although the color purple is pretty. It will be interesting to see what you you will be wearing on your graduation.

RORO said---Abbie I love your blog because you get us interested in your life. I ranked my favorites before I read these. I would vote for the purple one because I could see you wearing it for various occasions. I love the jewel-tone color and by the way I teach my students in fashion design about jewel-tone colors. I love the blue one the best because that's my favorite color, but with that being said both the blue and the pink have necklines that are cute but may not be appropriate for various occasions. So if you are confused after you read all of that #1 purple, #2 blue and #3 pink. Will you let us know later how much they each cost?

TEAL ALL THE WAY! More flattering. I guess you could just belt the others if you'd like. The order: 1, 2, 3. One and two would be more versatile I think. Ian also likes #1 (yes, I had him vote).

also - where did you find these...

I think the purple dress looks great! The teal would be my next choice, and last would be the pink.

I also have to agree with teal! They are all adorable but I just LOVE how that one looks on you! :-)

also @ Kathy: unfortunately, we do still have to wear pantyhose for some things in the legal profession (interviews, court, etc). I don't know how often people wear them in general though anymore, even for formal occasions. I sometimes wear them even when I don't have to because I'm so pale. I guess it is a judgment call whether to wear hose or not, but they aren't usually required in anything but the most conservative settings.
