Tonight I made some risotto for the first time. I used the Pioneer Woman's Red Pepper Risotto recipe. It. was. delicious. Risotto is a good meal because, while my pack of the rice was $5, I only used about 1/5 of the package, so it seems pretty cheap.

Cooking the risotto was a little tedious because the cook is not supposed to stop stirring the pot, but other than that the meal was delicious. I used low sodium chicken broth and this white wine:
This is a very cheap bottle of wine (I think I paid $10 for the bottle), but I love the label. Isn't it cute?

I loved the Pioneer Woman risotto I ate last week at Sarah's. And as she extensively pointed out on her blog recently, it is even cheaper if you use barley!
