Apple pie

After the ER debacle, we decided to just come back home that night so that we could sleep in our own bed and have a relaxing Sunday. So, when we finally woke up, David decided to make a pie crust and we made apple pie!

It was soooo tasty. I made a crumbly top crust out of brown sugar, butter, and flour. We had some apples that were already prepped for pie-making in the freezer. Actually, there is a really funny story attached to those apples. One day, I was making David's lunch and did not have any leftovers, so I got the unlabeled apple pack out of the freezer and stuck it in the microwave to defrost it a little, thinking that it was meat. (My family gives us a ton of frozen food items in Ziplock baggies for our use, and this had come from one of them.) After the apples were defrosted, we looked at them and thought that the "meat" looked a little bad, so we tasted it and still couldn't figure out what they were. Finally, we realized that they were fruit and then correctly determined that they were apples.

So anyway, the pie was tasty! David did a wonderful job on the crust, and now he keeps saying that I will want him to make crust all of the time. It was so flaky and good.

Injury update: David's eyelid is now bruising and it is kind of sickening. He is now on his way to help tutor some of the University athletes, so they will probably think that he is actually a bad example since it now looks like he was in a bar brawl.

A lot of the MU athletes will think David fits right in with them with his eye the way it his. Some might even think that you did to him.
